In the modern society most of the people are subject to psychological stress due to continuous exposure to buzy schedules in business or any life style activities. Due to continuous exposure to psychological stress people may suffer from psychosomatic disorders like Allergies, Astma, Hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, autoimmune diseases even cancer etc. It would be better to adopt stress free life style along with medical treatment for these maladies.

The preventive type stress free life style is being offered by wellness industry in the form of retreats for specific period is in good demand. These retreats will address many levels and among them are emotional, physical, nutritional and environmental. These retreats require the services of the fitness experts and spiritual teachers.

Mr. Jigme Tashi Tsering, Bhutan Lhayul Tours & Travels as the main promoter in Bhutan is inclined toward spirituality and it is interested to start a retreat center offering wellness services to promote spiritual, mental and physical health in the society.

With the above aim, we are looking for potential FDI investors looking to enter the hospitality business in Bhutan in joint venture offering wellness services. The investment part may be worked out and promoter’s contribution may also be decided during finalization of concept.

Description of Proposal

We propose to start hospitality business with the following facilities in conformation to international standards.

i) To build a hotel with 30 luxury suits and 20 cottages
ii) An international standard spa, Yoga and other fitness service will be offered
iii) A separate international mindful meditation center will be established where spiritual masters and teachers will teach meditation methods to cope up stress related issues
iv) Ayurvedic and Bhutanese traditional medical service will be provided to offer mind body medicine and holistic healing

Mode of Business

The retreat facilities will be offered to various tourist from all over the world since the eastern spiritual way of life is attracting people from western world. Different retreat packages will be offered. The details of packages will be worked out after business concept is established in consultation with the Promoters.

Infrastructure and Facilities

i) Land – At least 7 acres land with serene environment is required where there will not be any sound or air pollution
ii) Buildings – A two storied building with future expansion plan will be built. Initially 30 luxury suits facility will be built
iii) 20 Nos individual cottages will be built well spaced from each other
iv) A spa and yoga center including well equipped qym
v) Meditation center
vi) Good restaurant serving health food of western as well as eastern culture


The proposed business will provide employment to local urgan educated people with different skills which may be utilized in hospitality activities. Were specialty services are required expert teachers, trainers may be invited from India, Bhutan or else where as required and as per the demand of the business. At least 100 people will be employed for providing service around the clock. Well-educated young people trained in hospitality business will be employed. Most of the employees will be graduated trainees who will be trained in hospitality business.
